Stranger Things Season 4

Last weekend I watched the final episodes of Stranger Things season 4 and it was just as good as season 1!  That's hard to do for most directors but the Duffer brothers pulled it off.  The characters are even more developed and self-sacrifice is the underlying theme for the better good!  Here's my opinion on some of the characters so watch out, expect some spoilers.

Vecna
Pure evil.  I love that he isn't just a monster from another dimension but is Papa's original test subject - 001.  We hear his backstory in Season 4.1 and now understand his full purpose and power.  He lost the battle in Season 4, but he is about to win the war! 

Eddie Munson
This is one character you can't judge by appearances alone!  He's the type of kid your mama said to stay away.  Yet, underneath the heavy metal persona is a young man with a heart of gold.  He no longer runs from his fears and does his part to save Max and the town of Hawkins.  Too bad he died for it!

Max Mayfield
Max in one of the strongest characters of the series - her intellect, street-smarts, and courage is above all others.  In spite of Vecna's power, she willingly puts her life in danger so that he can be destroyed.  It was devastating to see her lose.  Her eyes glaze over, her body rises, and then her arms and legs contort, snapping into pieces.  She dies.  It's a miracle that 011 brings her back to life, albeit broken and in a coma.

Dustin Henderson
Dustin's maturity was most noticeable amongst the characters.  The screaming and curse words were finally toned down, and you got to see the brotherly love developed between he and Eddie.  Eddie died in his arms, and Dustin gave a touching speech to his uncle about the valiant character Eddie really was.

Papa
This psychopath was shot while escaping his secret facility with 011.  011 deemed him the real monster.

In the end, we see the upside-down world and our world collide.  The door between the two worlds fully opens with the death of Max.  Initially described as an earthquake, the ground opens, swallowing up streets, homes, and buildings.  A few days later, the sky shutters with pollen from the upside-down world, and the hillsides are engulfed with death.  Vecna is about to take over - but we will have to wait until Season 5 to see this outcome.
