If I were to produce Baseball Cards...

If I were to produce baseball cards, regardless of having an exclusive license, I would create a set that has the following attributes.

Base Set (Common – 19 Cards per Team)
The base set are portrait shots of the players in a non-glossy format. It consists of the team’s top 2 catchers, top 5 infielders, top 5 outfielders, and top 7 pitchers (starters and relievers). Since the cards are on a matte cardstock, they absorb ink well and are great for collectors seeking autographs from the players. The back of the cards will have the player’s yearly stats.

Insert Set – Extension of Base Set (Uncommon – 10 Cards per Team)
This set are non-glossy cards that includes one of the entire team (checklist on back), the Manager, Coaches, Mascot, the Stadium and the Broadcast team – they liven up the game! The back of the cards will contain unique information about what is portrayed on the card. Odds: 1 per 10 card pack.

Insert Set – Action Shots (Uncommon – 19 Cards per Team)
Action shots of the players in glossy format. Information on the back is the information about the play, such as the pitcher throwing 12 strikeouts in the game or a rookie making his first hit. Odds: 1 every 2 packs.

Insert Set – Printed Autographs (Rare – 10,000 Cards per Player)
Machine generated autographs of the players are included on these cards with a corresponding designation on the back to avoid any confusion. All cards have serial numbers.

Insert Set – Hand Written Autographs (Super Rare – 1,000 Cards per Player)
Hand written autographs by the ball player with a corresponding designation on the back. These cards have serial numbers.

Insert Set – Relics (Super Rare – 1,000 Cards per Player)
Action shots of the players from the base set that includes relics such as uniform swatches, bat shavings, glove or baseball mitt relics, etc. These are on a thicker card stock to better contain the relic. These cards have serial numbers.

Insert Set – Autograph Relics (Limited – 500 Cards per Player)
The best of both worlds – an autograph and a relic! These cards are printed on a thicker stock and have serial numbers.
