Back to the Basics

I’m going back to the basics with the card collection - I am reorganizing.  The cards are organized by favorite teams and players and stored in top loaders and then placed in boxes.  All other cards are stored in either penny sleeves/boxes or in display pages.  I’ve decided to move all sports cards into boxes, sorted by team and then year.  This includes putting my favorite players back with their teams.  All non-sport cards are going to the binders.  If I have enough pages, I’ll hold empty slots for cards that are missing from the base sets, but then inserts will all be lumped together.

There were 950 cards in my first box, and now it’s organized the way I like.  Of those, 36 cards were of the San Diego Padres.  I’ll work on scanning in the cards and then uploading them to the website.  Only 3 players are still active with the team, Wil Myers, Matt Strahm, and Fernando Tatis Jr.  All the others were traded or dropped down to the minors.  The Padres team card is the only card I have that features Tatis.
